                           General
                           
The University of Memphis is an agency of the State, and, as such,
is bound by State laws governing the claims of its employees for
allowance for on-the-job injuries or death and claims against the
University for injuries or damages caused by the acts or omissions
of any employee of the University.  The Tennessee State Board of
Claims has been established to provide for the filing, investigation,
hearing, and disposition of such claims.


                       Filing of Claims
                       
The Vice President for Business and Finance shall be responsible
for developing appropriate procedures on how to file claims against
The University of Memphis.
