SUBJECT:  Sponsored Program Contract and Grant Applications

SUPERSEDES POLICY NO.:  1:2B:05:01        DATED:  May 1, 1977


Only the President, and those other individuals specifically
authorized in writing by the President, through published polices/
procedures or other authorizing documents, have the authority to
enter into sponsored program contract and/or grant agreements as
agents of the University.  For purposes of this policy, sponsored
programs shall include all externally sponsored programs in which
the University agrees to furnish academic services and/or
facilities.

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs with the advice of the
Associate Vice Provost for Research shall be responsible for the
development and administration of the procedure to ensure
compliance with this policy.
