THE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS POLICY MANUAL
SUBJECT: Activities Calendar - Coordinating, Listing, and
Scheduling
POLICY NO.: 1:2E:12:06 DATE: August 30, 1989
SUPERSEDES POLICY NO.: 1:2E:12:06 DATED: October 1, 1979
The University recognizes the integral role that nonclassroom
activities play in the overall educational experience of its
students. The Division of Student Educational Services implements
these activities by encouraging participation and providing helpful
services and an atmosphere in which students may best benefit from
university life outside the classroom.
On a large multi-purpose campus such as The University of Memphis,
duplication of programs often occurs. This is due primarily to a
lack of communication created by the use of more than one location
for the listing of activities and for obtaining information about
them.
In an effort to reduce the problems surrounding scheduling and
listing of activities at The University of Memphis, there will be
established a central location on campus where all university
related, non-classroom activities will be scheduled or listed. The
guidelines and procedures for the operation of this coordinating
and scheduling and listing center will be the responsibility of the
Vice Provost for Student Educational Services, and operational
responsibility by the Director of the University Center.
