The University of Memphis campus and sponsored by university
organizations:
1. Admittance - All University of Memphis (full time and part time)
students, faculty and staff with valid U of M I.D. plus
accompanied guests may be admitted. When admission charge is
made, The U of M (full time and part time) students, faculty
and staff with valid ID may purchase tickets for guests.
2. Outdoor movies must be approved by proper university officials.
3. Publicity - Advertising of students presented and sponsored
movies will be limited to the confines of The U of M campus
(Fraternities). All advertisements must have the Affirmative
Action clause displayed.
4. Admission Change - Charges may be made for the showing of
movies in order to cover and help defray the rental cost.
(Movies are not to be used as money making projects.) All
ticket sales must be coordinated by The U of M Ticket Office
when budgeted university funds are used.
5. Location - Movies may be presented on The U of M campus where
appropriate scheduling and clearance are made in advance. When
admission charges are assessed, ID checkers must be provided
at the entrance to the movie by sponsoring organization and
controlled by sponsoring organization and advisor.
6. Types of Movies - Only movies rated G, PG, PG-13 and R may be
shown on campus. All non-rated movies must have description
attached to order and be approved by advisor to organization.
7. Concessions at Movies - Approval must be secured with the
University Food Service Liaison for any food or drink items
distributed or sold during the movie.
8. Solicitations or contribution collections will not be conducted
during the movie.
9. Sponsorship - Any recognized student organization with
adequate funds to cover the cost of the movie and publicity
prior to the event may sponsor a movie. The sponsoring
organization will assume the responsibility for the control of
conduct of all participants at the movie. Conduct must be
consistent with university regulations and codes of conduct.
Future scheduling of events will depend upon the organiza-
tion's ability to control the conduct of those in attendance.
10. Video tape films shown on campus shall be in compliance with
Federal Copyright laws. Videotapes from local retail outlets
marked for home use only may not be shown in public areas
which include student lounges, assembly and meeting rooms,
recreational areas, and most other areas outside of a private
home or room. Public Performance Videos which may be shown on
campus, may be rented from licensed movie agencies by paying
a fee for public showing which protects you from copyright
infringement and the resulting legal fees, program suspension
and fines.
